GlassPass Launches New Website and Mobile App

The New GlassPass is Here

GlassPass has officially launched for the 3rd time. Yes you read that right. This update, with the new functional website and completely redesigned app, is the 3rd time that we’ve rebuilt the entirety of GlassPass from scratch. This one is the biggest with the most improvements to date, making everything easier. And we just hit 100,000 users! 💚

For the last two years while you’ve been using the app regularly, we’ve rewritten the entire codebase for the app (and website) from scratch. Not just redesigning every screen, but the entire backend foundation has been massively improved. The speed of the entire platform, from images & videos to messaging, and our ability to build new features & fix bugs, is exponentially faster. We’re constantly improving the general functionality of the platform and adding new features faster than you can keep track of, with live updates going out every week!

This update for both iOS & Android is focused on growing the glass community and exposing new people to glass art. For the first time in 5 years GlassPass will be available on a desktop, with a modern design and full marketplace functionality. Since we launched in early 2021 GlassPass has only been available as an app, greatly limiting the mainstream access to our community. We just surpassed 100,000 users and have so much more to do. With a website, all posts will be searchable by Google, buyers can browse all listings without having to make an account, and new functionality is available. Soon Sellers will have advanced order & inventory management systems, and Buyers will be able to checkout faster than ever. This is just V1, with V2 & V3 releasing throughout the end of 2024.

What's Coming Next: V1, V2, & V3 Explained

  • V1 (Now Live): The first version lets anyone browse all listings, search, and view profiles. However, there’s no ability to sign in so you can’t like, comment, or buy/sell yet.

  • V2: Users will be able to log in, purchase items, and a few other key features. Sellers won’t be able to post listings just yet, but buyers can purchase anything.

  • V3: Sellers will gain full functionality, including creating and editing listings, managing inventory, importing items from other sites, and more. All other features will be added.

In short: V1 is for browsing, V2 introduces buying, and V3 brings in selling.

Why This Update is a Game-Changer

  • New Website: It opens up the community, bringing in more buyers with easier access. The website isn’t hidden behind an app, so listings are now searchable on Google, attracting new visitors and providing greater exposure for sellers.

  • Better Design: Improved organization, a more user-friendly tag system, and better page flow make finding what you’re looking for a breeze.

  • Rebuilt Infrastructure: The app has been redesigned to match the new website, making it faster and more flexible. This also sets the stage for larger-volume sellers to manage their inventory (coming in V3) and buyers to shop more easily (V2).

  • Built for Growth: This update is just the beginning. We’re building new features for sellers, shops, galleries, and artists, including inventory and order management, event planning, customer management, and more.

The Effort Behind the Scenes

This launch is the result of nearly two years of hard work by our entire in-house team. Every design, screen, button, and line of code was crafted by us—no outside firms involved. We’re proud to share this milestone with you, our community, and we’re excited for what’s next!

Keep an eye out for more updates as we roll out V2 and V3 throughout the rest of 2024!
