GlassPass Updates from June 2024: VIDEOS!

What's New on GlassPass this month?

I hope you’ve been having a great summer so far! We’ve been working nonstop on perfecting the new "Browsing Experience", which includes an easier to navigate Explore page, a personalized Home page feed based on your interests, cleaner feed and post views, and more. These new designs allow us deliver both a more attractive interface and more functionality for both buyers and sellers. Sellers' work & listings are showcased better and in new ways, while buyers can search for an item easier and faster than ever.

But most importantly, we've heard your suggestions & requests, and there's been a commonly recurring feature that you've asked for, but we weren't able to deliver... until now. We put together a little surprise for you, but first: what's one of the first few questions asked when buying or selling a piece? 

"you got function videos?"

Well now you do... 

INTRODUCING VIDEOS ON POSTS & LISTINGS!

  • Videos on Listings are here! Post up to 3 videos, 10 seconds each, on any listing. 7 photos are allowed with the 3 videos! 
    • Note: all videos still adhere to our community guidelines and prohibited items list. 
    • Posts that have videos are displayed with a triangle “play” icon on the feeds. 
    • All videos default to being muted, and music can still be played while using the app.
    • Videos can be viewed full screen, with no crop, by tapping the “full screen” button when the video is playing.
    • We’re still experimenting with how to provide the best experience with videos, so please let us know if you have any suggestions!

All New Features!

  • Quantity on Listings: Sellers can now choose to enter a quantity on Offer & BIN posts for duplicate items. 
  • Multi-Day Boosts: Sellers can set Boosts to repeat every day for up to 1 week, with discounts on each additional day added. A similar system is coming to bumps soon!
  • Improved Messaging experience and speed:
  • Added Lightning Bolt icon on explore page for BIN posts. Auction posts have a gavel/hammer, and posts accepting Offers have an envelope.
  • Added "Artist" quick-filter on the explore page that only shows listings from users with Glassblower account type, along with the “American” and “New” quick filters.
  • Improved loading time of photos and videos. Feed and explore page load times should feel seamless. 
  • Added a new "Verified" check mark badge to show that an account has been verified by GlassPass. This is still a work in progress, but is designed to verify an artist is who they claim to be.
  • Added Copy/Paste to shipping address from the Order Screen for easier accessibility 
  • Increased the Seller Shipping Period to 5 business days instead of 3 business days. Buyers can request a refund for any item that hasn't been shipped after 5 business days. However, we are looking into changing the requirement to be 5 normal days to prevent weekends extending shipping periods to 7 days.
  • Search Algorithm Improvements when both typing words or using filters. Old posts from years ago will no longer show up when searching with words or using filters. We've tweaked the algorithm to prioritize new posts that match the query.


Since it's been almost 4 months since v2.6.0 launched, the new v2.6.1 covers 
a ton of new features. You may have already seen some of these updates since the app sends the update directly to your phone if you quit the app twice. Below I've attempted to list all of the changes, improvements, and upgrades over the last few months... but I know I probably missed a few things here and there 😅  Let us know what you think!

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed bug that affected tag entry on create/edit post forms
  • Fixed issues with messages not sending, videos not uploading, and images being cropped in the chat
  • Fixed issues with email verification not working for certain users. Please email us if this is still happening to you!
  • Adjustment in the display of sold tags on posts with long titles
  • Fixed issue with Auction notifications
  • Fixed issue with counter offers not working, and displaying wrong fees
  • Fixed issue with rounding on Total Income tile on dashboard screen
  • Changed "Manage Payout Methods" in settings to "Manage Dots Account"
  • Shipping deadline now takes federal holidays into consideration
  • Tweaked search algorithm to prioritize recent posts when searching with words and when using filtered tags. More tweaks to come
  • Fixed Mark as Unsold not working
  • Fixed videos in chat not working
  • Fixed issue when opening random posts on a user's profile that caused the app to reload
  • Added password verification to delete account
  • Adding confirmation pop up to Request Refund button
