Updates to All GlassPass Policies for 2024

GlassPass is updating its policies on March 25th, 2024. Every year we’re required to review and refresh our policies, meaning most of the changes are very minimal. This year we added more specificity on transaction types, clarified the refund & return policy, and adjusted the Fee Policy. This is the first time we’ve changed our fees in over 2 years, because our goal is to always keep the fees as low as possible for our users.

On March 25th, GlassPass is updating all of its policies for 2024. This includes the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Fee Policy, and all other guidelines.

What We’re Updating:

  • This is a complete overhaul of our policies and guidelines. We’re focused on building a faster & easier self-service experience and believe you deserve the best. The general themes are - boosting transparency, improving clarity, and reducing confusing legal language.

GlassPass Terms of Use

  • Updated to contain language for Binding Offers & Bids
  • Updated to contain language for Buy It Now transactions
  • Updated to contain language for Dots Payouts & Wallet
  • Miscellaneous changes to wording & other small updates
  • Additional liability updates

GlassPass Privacy Policy

  • No major changes
  • General update for 2024

GlassPass Refund & Return Policy

  • Added more clarity & explanation of processes for certain situations
  • Improved transparency of dispute resolution process & all potential situations
  • Added specific guidelines for electronic devices and other non-glass items

GlassPass Fee Policy

  • Update to Seller Fee tiers:
    • Under $100: 7% + $1
    • Between $100 and $1,000: 6.5%
    • Between $1,000 and $10,000: 6%
    • Over $10,000 (ACH/wire only): 5%
  • Trusted Seller Reward Program: (Coming Soon)
    • Trusted Sellers earn discounts on seller fees after reaching a certain number and/or dollar amount of sales
    • Multiple tiers of discounts and rewards for various milestones of sales achieved

Why has the fee changed? 

Since the launch of the GlassPass app in March 2021, our goal has always been to keep transaction fees as low as possible while sustaining the app and continuing to build new features. That goal will always remain the same. This is the first time we’ve adjusted the fee structure in two years. Since then we’ve grown exponentially, and inflation has increased our operating expenses – meaning our overall cost to maintain the app & build new features is much higher.
To keep GlassPass running and continue to provide the best experience we can, we have to raise our transaction fees. We’ve asked many of you about your thoughts on this fee change over the last few months because your opinion matters most. Based on the feedback we heard, we’re adding a Trusted Seller reward program which will give discounts for achieving certain sales milestones.

The Seller Fee tiers have been adjusted for each price category, as shown above. The more expensive the item, the lower the fee. We’re still working on officially allowing transactions over $10,000, which will only be available via ACH/wire transfer. The Trusted Seller reward program will allow sellers to earn fee discounts based on their number and total dollar amount of sales.
